Public Speaking Presentation From Sixth Form Student Eneja Smith

Our very own TGS Sixth form student Eneja Smith has been very proactive in researching what is available for increasing student public speaking opportunities.

TGS has always been very passionate about promoting public speaking and oracy skills, and to have this recognised and pushed further by a student is really exciting.  We love it when their drive and enthusiasm compells them to promote their findings to their peers.

Eneja firmly believes that public speaking experience helps each student with "career preparation' - equipping them with presentation and leadership skills that are valued in most jobs".  It increases "confidence, with regular practice in public students overcome their fears of public speaking". Public speaking also strongly improves "communication skills - engaging in debates improves the abilities to express ideas claearly and in a structured manner".

In her Public Speaking Presentations (please see resources on the right hand side) Eneja shared competitions that are available for students to enter including details for future politicians, future leaders free workshop details, and even a debate for our French students.

Eneja will continue to share her findings with our Sixth Form students and we hope to share the activities throughout the year.
