Dear Families
It’s been another busy and rewarding week here at Thomas Gainsborough School. Our Year 11 Geography students enjoyed a highly successful field trip to Bury St Edmunds, where they gathered all the information they needed to support their classroom learning. I was especially proud to hear so many positive comments from members of the public about how polite, engaged and well-mannered our students were throughout the day.
On Wednesday, we hosted our Year 6 Open Evening and I’m delighted to say it was a record turnout. The school was buzzing with energy as prospective students and their families explored our facilities, met our fantastic staff and students and heard from a range of speakers about what makes our school such a special place. The treats in the canteen were, as always, a big hit too!
Looking ahead, next week we’re excited to host our Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 Awards Evenings. These events are a highlight of the school year, as we come together to celebrate the hard work, achievements and contributions of our students – both academically and beyond the classroom. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming many of you to share in these celebrations.
