What Will I Study?
This dynamic and industry-relevant course is designed for students who are passionate about music and eager to develop their creative and technical abilities. Through practical, hands-on learning, students explore key areas such as performance, composition, production, and the wider music industry. The course encourages individual expression, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of music in a contemporary context.
RSL courses allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in a variety of ways. Practical experiments, presentations, performance and written coursework are all used as evidence and determine the final grade. This enables practical, interesting and varied learning
and our students often excel.
RSL qualifications also provide the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable skills including time management, organisation, research, presentation skills and working with others.
Additional Entry Requirements:
Grade 5 or above in GCSE Music, or a Merit or above in a BTEC or RSL Level 2.
Assessment:
Assessments are made throughout the course and are linked to specific units.
Leading to futures in:
This music course opens pathways into roles such as music producer, recording engineer, composer, front of house sound engineer, health and safety officer, and touring technician. Whether working behind the scenes or in creative production, students gain the foundation to thrive in the dynamic and evolving music industry.
