Dear Families
It’s been another wonderful week here at Thomas Gainsborough School, filled with moments that remind us why our school community is so special. One of the highlights was our Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 Awards Evenings, where we had the pleasure of celebrating the hard work, perseverance, creativity and character of so many of our students. We are incredibly proud of them all.
Our Year 7 students also enjoyed a fantastic Science trip to Shimpling Park Farm in Bury St Edmunds this week. They had a brilliant experience exploring the farm, making real-world links to their science curriculum, and seeing first-hand how what they learn in the classroom connects to the wider world around them. Some of our Year 10 students were lucky enough to visit The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich to watch a production called Teachers. It was a valuable and engaging experience, giving them the chance to explore important ideas and themes in a creative setting.
A gentle reminder that Thursday 9 October is our Academic Review Day. There will be no normal lessons on this day, but we strongly encourage you to come into school to meet your child’s tutor. It’s a fantastic opportunity to discuss how they have started the year and to talk about how we can continue working together to support their progress and ensure they have a successful year ahead.
