Dear families,

It has been wonderful to see the sun shining this week and to be able to enjoy being outside at break and lunch time. It has been another busy week with exams but we have finally completed all the A Level and GCSE papers. We would still be happy to receive copies of good condition revision material and school uniform to student services or the main reception.

Year 10 and 12 are focused on their end of year exams and our Key Stage 3 students are having assessments in their lessons.

We also experienced the most amazing showcase of the developing musical talents of students on Tuesday - well done to all the students and staff who took part, and the fantastic bunting made to celebrate music at Thomas Gainsborough School.

We are looking forward to seeing Year 11 students and their families at Graduation on Thursday.

RSC Regional Playmaking Festival & Shakespeare at TGS

As you may be aware we are taking part in the RSC schools project again this year.  This involves our students taking part in a final performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Mercury in Colchester on Tuesday 2 July at 7 pm.

Our Shakespeare ambassadors are also organising an evening of Shakespeare themed performances on Tuesday 16 of July in G block drama hall at 5:30 pm. This will be an hour long and free to attend.  It would be lovely to see staff at either event and I know the students will really appreciate it.

Book MasterMind Competition

We are hosting representatives from all our Trust secondary to take part in a competition showcasing their love of reading and their general knowledge. Keep your fingers crossed for a TGS victory.

Sports Leadership

Our excellent sports leaders have a busy week coming up supporting both Lavenham and Thurlow and Hundon primary schools to run their sports days.

Library books

To help encourage a love of reading, and to support our local, on site community library we would welcome donations of any good condition unwanted books. These will either be provided to students free of charge from the Reading Room, or available to buy for a very low cost at the Library. Students or families should bring donations to the school library.
