The Outhouse is an NHS funded support service, which covers all of Suffolk, and North-East Essex.

They offer bespoke, person-centred support across multiple formats to all individuals over 16 who identify as transgender, non-binary, or who might be questioning their gender.

Their support extends to their entire network, including parents, carers, family, teachers, and professionals.

Please have a look at their website for the support they offer in Colchester and North East Essex, but in Suffolk, as well as 1:1 support, they now have three peer support groups:

  • Gender Diversity Suffolk – A social peer group every 3rd Saturday of the month in Ipswich from 2 till 4 PM for individuals over 18.

  • Gender Diversity with Suffolk Libraries – A drop-in style group in collaboration with Suffolk Libraries held in Bury St Edmunds Library on the last Tuesday of the month, from 5 till 7 PM starting on 24th September for individuals over 18.

  • Parent/Carers Group Suffolk – A support group for parents/carers of trans+ individuals (of any age) held in Ipswich on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 7 till 9 PM starting from 10th October.
