This year, TGS has started a sixth form netball club, and as luck would have it, on Thursday 21st September, TGS played host to the U19 Western Area round of the English Schools Competition in netball.
We entered our very new team of sixth form netballers into the competition, and, with some help from some Year 11 netballers, we were able to play in several matches against other local secondary schools, including Abbeygate, Finborough, Culford and Thurston.
We didn't win any of our matches - after all, we were up against some stiff competition and some of our players were new to the game or returning after a long break! The girls did, however, have a great time - it was a fabulous opportunity to gain some match play and work together as a team, as well enjoying some fresh air and exercise in this lovely extended summer weather!
Our netball club continues on a Thursday afternoon, and hopefully, with some more training, we can look forward to winning some games in the future!
