IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark) Inclusive Schools Award
We are delighted to report that following a successful assessment in May 2022, Thomas Gainsborough School has been awarded IQM status. This achievement can be celebrated further as we are the first secondary school in Suffolk to receive this award and the assessment team has recommended that Thomas Gainsborough School receive Centre of Excellence status.
The IQM is a nationally accredited award and framework that acknowledges a school's inclusion journey, whilst recognising the key work that is undertaken daily to support all students. Some of the comments received as part of the feedback from the assessment team included;
- Thomas Gainsborough School is one of the most inclusive schools they have ever seen in all of their visits
- The collaboration between all (staff, students, families, governors, Trust) is amazing
- Consistency and communication shine throughout the school in everything we do
- Inclusivity for all students is at the heart of all we do
We would like to thank everyone who supported the assessment process (including parents & carers, students, staff, and governors) and everyone within the Thomas Gainsborough community for continuing to make the school an inclusive and supportive environment that encompasses our values and motto of Excellence: for each, for all.
