Dear Parents/Guardians
Year 7 Bushcraft Residential Visit
Thursday 4th July to Friday 5th July 2019
As July approaches so does the Bushcraft visit to Broughton Woods, Lincolnshire. We are now in a
position to provide you with a little more detail regarding the itinerary, travel arrangements,
emergency contact details and a kit list. We would also like to collect a little more information
from you regarding medical issues and dietary requirements.
Travel details are outlined below. If you need to contact us throughout the stay, please note the
school mobile number is 07585 683546. The contact details for The Bushcraft Company 24-hour
support number is 03332 000612. Please note this is only to be used in absolute emergencies.
Outbound Journey
Meet at school (car park D/Bus park): 07:30 Thursday 4th July
Arrive at Broughton Woods: 09:45 (approximately)
On arrival, the students should have the following to hand (ideally in a small rucksack), ready for
the walk to camp: A full bottle of water Any medication they may need for the day in a waterproof labelled container Suitable footwear for the walk to camp (this could be up to a 40 minute walk) and time to
immerse themselves in to the woods Suitable clothing for the weather i.e. waterproofs/sun hat/sun cream
The Bushcraft team will transport all large/bulky luggage directly to camp so the students may not
have access to this for a couple of hours.
Return Journey
Depart from Broughton Woods: 15:00 Friday 5th July
Arrive at school: 17:30 (approximately)

If you require further information, we have arranged a parents’ information evening on Thursday
23rd May at 6.00pm in the Main Hall. There will be a brief presentation providing you with
information about the Bushcraft experience and travel arrangements. There will also be an
opportunity to ask questions if you require any additional information regarding the trip.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the final payment for this trip was
due on Tuesday 30th April. If you would like to discuss any issues relating to finance, please contact
Mrs Griss or Miss Byham.
Please complete the reply slip below and return it along with the personal details form to
Students Services no later than Friday 17th May 2019. If you require further information, please do
