Dear Families

Thank you to all the students that supported our open evening last night, it was a fantastic experience for everyone. It is always a pleasure to welcome visitors to our school and to have the opportunity to show off what a wonderful school community we have.

Competitions

We have an extensive range of competitions running this term and lots of opportunities for students to earn merits from entering. These include increasing your streaks as you learn a language on the Duolingo app (details below), recording a space podcast or musical performance and creating a newspaper front page about a World War 1 event. Every entry for a competition will be rewarded with merits and also help support your House and help them to win the Chelsworth Cup at the end of term!

All competition details are available online and are shared in tutor time each week.

Year 7, 9 & 12 Individual Photos are ready!

Vancols Photographers are pleased to confirm that the School Photographs are ready to view using the QR code on your proof card.

If you have already scanned the QR code on the Proof and registered you will receive an auto email notification. If you have not done it yet, don’t panic, you can still view it by scanning the QR code on your Proof and following the instructions.

If by chance you have not received your Proof or it has been lost you can call Vancols Parent Line on 01206 273711, for class photos you will need the school number. For individual photographs you will need the pupil’s admission number from the school database.

The online cut-off date for orders to be placed for free postage back to the school is Thursday 3 October 2024.

Duolingo

The Languages Department at TGS wants to celebrate the commitment from every member of the community to learning languages.

If you have started using Duolingo, this is your opportunity to contribute towards your child's House merit totals by logging your achievements as soon as you claim one of the rewards below.

Remember that students can submit as many entries as they wish, using this submission form, as long as it is for different achievements. They will need to be logged in to their school email account.

If you have problems attaching a screenshot of your achievement to this form, please email duolingo@tgschool.net with your screenshot.

Thank you for taking part and enjoying learning languages.

Let's see which House has the most committed linguists!
