Dear Families,

As always, we are very grateful for your support. This week especially, you should also be incredibly proud of your child and how they have contributed to school life.

We have had many visitors in school this week including governors, Stuart Pringle (the CEO Silverstone F1), Y1 children for a cookery experience, football teams from other schools, the police to give valuable assemblies on anti-social behaviour, the school’s vaccination team and a team of inspectors from Ofsted. All of these visitors have commented positively on how respectful, polite and well focused our students, your children have been.

We expect that the report from the Ofsted visit will be published just before Christmas. And although we can not share specific information before it is published, we are confident that you will share our pride in what we all recognise as an exceptional school.

We hope that your weekend is warm and safe.

Youth Ambassadors

The children’s commissioner for England is seeking 16 passionate and articulate young people, who are aged 16 or 17 in April 2025, to champion the views of England’s children.

Over the last few months, Youth Ambassadors have had the chance to speak to politicians from all the main political parties, as well as peers and other decision makers. They have had the opportunity to share their views at roundtables and on panel discussions on a wide range of subjects including online safety, children in the media and the importance of youth participation. They have also been interviewed on television, radio and online, and have written blogs and articles for a variety of publications and social media outlets.

Ambassadors are able to learn firsthand about government and policy making, and make young people’s voices heard around issues that one million children have said are important. Issues like the cost-of-living crisis, education, mental health, online safety, knife crime and many other subjects.

They are looking  for a wide variety of people from across England to take part in the next Ambassadors programme. They just need to live in England, be 16 or 17 years old in April 2025 and have a passion for issues that impact young people. They particularly welcome applications from young people with lived experience of the care or health system, those with a disability or additional learning needs and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

If you have any questions, you can get in touch with the team via ChildrensCommissioner.AMBASSADORS@childrenscommissioner.gov.uk.
