Dear families,

Another busy and successful week at TGS culminating in an engaging Key Stage 3 Enrichment Day. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful guests who give up their valuable time to lead sessions for our students. We also had students attend the Suffolk Youth Parliament; the event was a success, six Year 11 & Year 12s debating the cost of living crisis and sustainable living; a visit to Cambridge university, to St Catharine’s college, which inspired and enthused some of Year 12s.

As ever, we have a range of forthcoming events and opportunities for our students coming up:

  • Great Cornard Dynamos are recruiting for their U13 girls football team.

Trials for Year 7 girls take place on Saturday 30 March, 9:30 AM you can call Lisa on 07938512849 to find out more.

  • Free Easter Holiday Activities - Funded by SCC HAF programme

These free sessions are primarily for children entitled to Means Tested Free School Meals. Activities include - free swimming, Adventure Days, Family Park Cooking & Teen Challenge Days.

  • Maths & Science GCSE Masterclasses:

A fantastic opportunity for our year 11 mathematicians and scientists to take part in revision classes on line lead by the Trust leads for those subjects.

  • Water Aid Non-Uniform Day - Friday 22 March

Wear something blue and pay £1 to support Water Aid. Clothes should still be suitable for school or Sixth Form, which means no ripped clothes, inappropriate slogans or logos and clothes that are a reasonable length and cover the shoulders. Jewellery should not be worn.

  • Year 11 - End of Year & Graduation

A reminder for students and families.

  • Vacancies: We have the following opportunities to join our team:

  • Switch Off When Parked - Suffolk Idling Action

We would encourage all families to do this to help us all reduce pollution within our community.
